In today's highly competitive market, we rely on our reputation to build and maintain our business - a reputation based on the quality of the products we supply.

Quality and award winning meat is a result of many factors such as the breed of the animal, the way that it is reared and fed, and the butcher's skill in maturing and cutting it. Our meat comes from traditional and rare breed animals, and we work hard in sourcing the best tasting meat from farms with high welfare standards. Our meats are often free-range and sometimes organic to give you the most ethical meat possible.

British

Our first loyalty is to small-scale farmers and growers throughout the UK, so we only source imported food if there really is no British equivalent. We strive to ensure a fair deal for the Great British farmers who supply us.

Seasonal

We constantly change what we sell to reflect what's in season. When foods not at their best, we don't stock them. 

Rare Breed

We are super-keen on rare breeds. We believe that their meat has better eating qualities than meat from the handful of modern breeds that have come to dominate farming.

Free Range

We don't sell factory-farmed products. We think that keeping large numbers of farm animals in a confined space and putting pressure on them to produce food in record time makes for miserable livestock and low-grade food.

Organic

When we discover certified organic foods that taste great and represent good value for money, we delight in listing them. Organic farmers put animal welfare at the heart of what they do. We choose organic foods when we can.
